This is a post a friend of mine made on Facebook. This disgusts me so much. There are thousands of missing and murdered Aboriginal women in Canada but it appears our police and government have no wishes to end this trend. A friend of mine and her friend could have ended up a part of that statistic due to the negligence of our justice system. Make this go viral.
This has been the response of Canadian police whenever I’ve had to report threats or violence. I have never, ever had white male violence taken seriously. I’m white and police have asked if there were any “natives” in the groups threatening me, and then refused to take action when they found out there weren’t.
I can’t think of a more useless system.
